Rufus

Rufus is a gorgeous grey Standard Rex with the silkiest fur, a huge personality and an even bigger appetite! This sweet boy came into our care after his previous owner sadly found they could no longer keep him safe from rats getting into his outdoor enclosure and attacking him. Despite what he's been through, Rufus hasn't let it dampen his spirits – he's an incredibly happy, trusting and affectionate rabbit who has completely won over our volunteers. Rufus is highly sociable and loves greeting everyone in the morning. He's inquisitive, friendly and always ready for a fuss – and if you're lucky, you might even get one of his lovely little nose kisses! Our volunteers describe him as “the sweetest boy” who is always happy to see you. He adores being stroked, has a fantastic appetite and certainly isn't a fussy eater. He also seems to prefer doing his toileting outside his main living area, which is another bonus from this very clever boy. Although Rufus loves human company and attention, he's also quite content to relax and enjoy some time by himself when nobody is around. As much as our volunteers would selfishly love to keep him, Rufus deserves a wonderful forever home of his own. The home Rufus needs 🏡 Rabbits are social animals and need the companionship of another compatible rabbit, so Rufus will be looking for a home where he can be properly bonded with a suitable rabbit friend. We can discuss this with potential adopters as part of the adoption process. His new home will also need to provide spacious, secure and appropriate rabbit accommodation that protects him from predators and allows him plenty of room to exercise, explore, forage, rest and display his natural behaviours. After everything Rufus has experienced, we'd love to see this beautiful boy – inside and out – settled somewhere safe, loved and with a bunny companion by his side.
