Peanut & Pompom

Meet Peanut & Pompom! Peanut has had a very difficult time over these last few months. We first met Peanut in 2021, where he came to us as his owner couldn’t handle looking after him anymore. Peanut was rehomed, and this was when he was introduced to a beautiful little Netherland Dwarf named Harper. Peanut absolutely adored her. Due to a new baby in the family, Peanut & Harper were sadly both returned to Foal Farm earlier this year. Their owners told us that although Peanut isn’t the biggest fan of people, he is enamoured by Harper, and that is enough for him. Harper struggled massively with this transition back into rescue. The stress caused her to stop eating, and despite trying absolutely everything we could to help her, we tragically lost Harper 3 months later. Peanut lost the only constant in his life. It was awful to see how heart-broken he was, and our priority became finding this poor boy a friend. Pompom came to Foal Farm in August when her owners’ children lost interest in her. She settled in immediately and has always loved her food! Pompom appeared to be both gentle and confident, and given that she had been bonded in the past we thought Pompom could be the cure for Peanut’s heart-break. Long story short: it took less than a fortnight for Pompom & Peanut to learn to trust each other. They spend all day in each others company, and Pompom grooms Peanut non-stop! She absolutely adores him, and her persistent grooming has brought about a side of Peanut we hadn’t seen for weeks. Without the love he received from Pompom, we really aren’t sure that Peanut would’ve bounced back from losing his friend. We’re so grateful that they find so much comfort in each other. Peanut & Pompom are now looking for their forever home together. We are looking for adopters with previous experience of owning rabbits, who can offer these two either an indoor home without any young children.
