Hoprah Winfrey is a gentle, shy rabbit looking for a calm and understanding home. She came into our care after her previous owner was unable to continue caring for a large group of rabbits, and she’s now ready for a fresh start in a caring environment. She is a shy character, however loves being outside in her run, and eating her favourite foods such as hay and leafy greens. Hoprah is naturally skittish and reserved, but she is comfortable with gentle handling and will blossom with patient, consistent interaction. She thrives outdoors with plenty of space to explore, and she especially enjoys quiet time in her run. With the right approach, she’ll gain confidence and show more of her sweet nature. Hoprah can live with secondary school–aged children, provided handling is supervised by an appropriate adult. She may also benefit from the companionship of a neutered male rabbit. She can live indoors or outdoors but will require a secure outdoor run if housed outside. Her accommodation should offer at least 3m x 2m x 1m of total space, with hides that have more than one entrance, so she feels safe. She enjoys natural rabbit behaviours like digging, foraging, and binkying, so a stimulating environment is essential. As a herbivore, Hoprah’s diet should consist mainly of hay or grass, with a small, measured portion of pellets and a daily handful of leafy greens. Please avoid harmful foods such as rhubarb, avocado, onions, and the green parts of tomato plants.
